Dorothy Hood Bryan

– Dorothy Hood Bryan, 80, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2008 at
Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family and friends.
Dorothy was born in Wayne County on January 31, 1928 to the late
Thomas Jordan Hood and Hazel Seymour Hood. She was married to the
late James Edward Bryan. Dorothy was a member of Salem United
Methodist Church and an active member of the Salem Joy Club.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Neal Wingfield officiating. Interment will be
Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Lou Ann B. Smith and husband,
Marshall of Goldsboro and Lynette B. Worrell and husband, Timmy of
Goldsboro; her granddaughter, Meredith Smith McElmurry and husband,
Nathan of Corona Del Mar, CA; her sisters-in-law, Mildred Radford
and husband, Russell of Goldsboro and Betty Bryan Owens of
Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by
a special cousin, George Peacock and special friends, Glennie and
Leroy Worrell.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by
her son, Thomas Edward Bryan and her sister, Ann Hunt.

Methodist Church, Salem Joy Club, 2706 Salem Church Road, Goldsboro,

The family will receive friends Monday following the service at
Seymour Funeral Home and other times at their homes.
