Lula Kearney Vandiford

Snow
Hill – Lula Kearney Vandiford, 88, went to be with her Lord on
Wednesday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her
family.
Lula was born in Wilson County on August 9, 1920 to the late George
Kearney and Winnie Ham Kearney. She was married to the late John L.
Vandiford. Lula was a member of Faro Pentecostal Free Will Baptist
Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Strouse and Rev. Danny Ham officiating.
Interment will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
Lula is survived by her daughters, Carol Creech and husband, William
Kenneth Creech of Snow Hill and Phyllis Vandiford of Snow Hill; her
sons, John W. Vandiford and wife, Annette of LaGrange, Jerry S.
Vandiford and wife, Sharon of Snow Hill and Ronald Vandiford and
wife, Wendy of Snow Hill; her sisters, Bea Balkcum and husband,
Vassie of Goldsboro, Dolly Mackvick and husband, Gene of Raleigh,
Doris Loy and husband, Fred of Goldsboro, and Faye Phillips of
Goldsboro; her brothers, Kenneth “Tom” Kearney and wife, Betty of
Pikeville, and James “Bo” Kearney and wife, Mary of Pikeville;
twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by
her brothers, Edgar Kearney, Douglas Kearney, Wayne Kearney, Pete
Kearney and Preston Kearney.
The family will receive friends Friday following the service at
Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Phyllis
Vandiford, 1989 Shine Road, Snow Hill, NC.
